Radio kit in M38A1
Hello
This topic could also go in the Radio section but is attached to a M38A1. So have decided to place it here. My M38A1 was initially a 2 CBG HQ & Signals Squadron vehicle, later renamed SSF HQ & Sig Sqn. Based on holes in the body, it had a three radio set up installed. One of the drivers in the SSF recalls that he drove the SSF General around and in the jeep was a GRC 106, 2 RT524 sets, plus it had a PRC-77 and a PRC-66 ( Air ground air) in man-pack configuration. Based on the fact that my vehicle has a fender flag mount, a licence plate slide on/off bracket on the front bumper and there is a plate on the front grill. We are guessing that this may be the same vehicle. But without documentation/ photo evidence we cannot be 100% sure. I am not installing the GRC 106 as it is a heavy beast. Therefore i am installing a mx-2799 AMU as i already have it. Rob Love sold me the cover for it a few years ago. Still waiting for a few more parts to complete it. Thanks Eric
