Default A few CMP parts

Hi all

I’m looking for the following parts for my C15a.

One of the rear wheel cylinder covers. This one has seen much better days.

One of the rear grease cones. Again this one has suffered from some rusting.

Lastly for now, the two cast parking brake clamps that are missing mounted to the rear brake plates. Both have cracked and suffered through some interesting welding.

The dust shield for the wheel cylinder was a standard Ford part but I haven't noticed many on ebay or elsewhere lately. They look like the ones on the M-135 2-1/2 ton brakes but may be dimensionally different.
The dust shield might be a bit of a challenge to re-form with JB Weld but the grease cone looks like it would be practical.

The wheel cylinder dust shields should be the same as on the M35A2 trucks. Look for either part number 7372762 or else NSN 2530-00-030-1408. But as a matter of how necessary they are, we tore them all off the MLVWs about 20 years ago.

M135 dust covers won't work Grant, as the wheel cylinders have offset holes.

Default Bits an pieces...

Hi Jordan

The sheet metal dust covers are available from LWD I beleive...

The funny funnel oil catcher is available from Macs auto standard Ford item

The cast parts were made just fro one week in July 1940 of unobtenium.

I have seen some stamped metal ones used by civilian models but remember where......

On my C15a because I was using the 2 speed T case I made and installed sheet metal cover plate over the hole..... both of mine where broken.

Best bet would be used parts....... and they are a bitch to remove unless you are going to torch everything..... have you considered Dennis near you..... you might have to offer carefully remove them yourself....but you could find the other parts at the same time... by design they are weak parts easy to break off.......same for the other end of the cable where it attaches to the frame.

There is a cut out drain hole in these rear seals..... they eventually fill up with mud and rust starts....make sure the rectangular hole is clean and open to drain out the back of the backing plate.

I can check the spare axles I have in a few weeks if the snow ever melts.....

Good luck

Web sources for wheel cylinder dust covers based on Rob's numbers:

https://www.bigmikesmotorpool.com/co...ns/m35a3-parts
https://www.easternsurplus.net/PartD...linder-Shields

https://www.wbparts.com/rfq/2530-00-030-1408.html They don't sell parts but the cross to Meritor number might be useful.

The M35 shields seem a bit more open in the corners than the original Ford shield but if Ford is unavailable and M35 is available and fits.....

Default Parking brake clamps

Jordan,

I've got the later style parking brake clamps that came off the Lynx when I replaced the brake cables. They are not cast, but stamped. If you want them, I can either mail them or bring them to the OMVA swap meet.

Peter

Thanks for the suggestions. Peter I’ll send you a msg.

Tony, I’ve seen the ones that LWD has however they are for the front and smaller then the rear ones.

Hi Jordan,

I had a quick look in the shop today, found a box filled with these:

https://www.lwdparts.com/product/cla...e-conduit-r-h/

Unfortunately, they are RH ones, I do not have a stock of LH ones.

And according to my stock list, I should have 593 of those grease cones….

Kind regards,

Stefan
