Default Carleton And York Regt. Cap Badge

Hi

I am wondering if you could shed some light on something that has been pointed out to me.

Being a man of kent, this is on particular interest to me. The Carleton and York Regt. cap badge has the white horse of Kent complete with "Invicta" (the motto). Can you please explain the connection to me between this canadian regiment and Kent, England?

Thanks in advance.

J Reynolds
