Default 1 Gear No Problems

OK I am cool with 1 gear, I admit it is a bit limiting but I am sure we can put some footage together we do have a hill and a river at Corowa.

PS I have a shed full of gears would you like two more, a 3 speed would offer a lot more chances to crunch!!!

OK, maybe no gear crunching this time but I'm sure we'll get some 'moments' from the footage. Consider youself the official rider then.

Give him a case of beer first, that might make for some interesting footage...

Hi Folks,

Corowa 2007 ... the year of the Karmen!

I shall not be able to bring a bike to Corowa, however, I WILL be bringing my frying pan I'd be lost and defenceless without it, especially over those deadly spiders I keep hearing about

Any spiders in Corowa I should watch out for? (Geoff may want to avoid reading this, as he can't handle spiders!)

Corowa Karmen the Canadian gets taken out by a wee bittie Aussie spider would make some sad headlines

Default How Sturdies your Bike

Well Keefy I think that would make a fine sight, Carmen do want the seat or handle bars?
Keefy I am a little concerned about riding up the hill thru the shopping centre, but we should get up a good pace comming back down to the river.
Carman if we add our mass together and calculate the gradient we should be able to terminate our velocity.
Prof. Tony Smith I way 105 KG if you get Carmens weight I am sure a man of your arithmitical talents can nut this one out.

Alex, you'll just have to get used to our quaint Aussie expressions as Carman will come back talking Strine.

Double dinking simply means offering a ride, not what you're inferring! :dh:

At least we don't root for our sporting teams... THAT would be pornographic!

I'm sure she'll love the experience of double dinking.

Default Corowa details

Here's a notice from Jan Thompson, secretary of Khaki Vehicles Inc, the body coordinating the event:

Quote:
28th ANNUAL GPA SWIM IN & EX MILITARY VEHICLE RALLY.
Monday12th March to Sunday 18th of March 2007.
2007 will be the year of the STAFF CAR and CYCLE.

Here is an incentive to get your Staff Car, Motorcycle or bicycle finished in time to participate in the parade through Corowa on Saturday 17th March 2007.

Until we can obtain more sponsorship we hope you will help us to continue to run this event by making a small donation of $5.00 per vehicle, which will assist in covering the costs involved in running this great event.

We ask you to pre-register for the event as it will save considerable time when you arrive and will give the organisers a better idea of numbers attending so that the event can be organised earlier than has been previously possible. For people pre-registering prior to the 28th February 2007 they will receive a memento upon arrival at Corowa. The Corowa RSL who owns the Corowa Sports & Citizen’s Club [alongside Ball Park Caravan Park] is our major sponsor and will probably offer meal vouchers for participants again. By filling out your interest in attending the Friday evening function we can put meal vouchers aside for you.

A registration form has been circulated, please fill this in and return it as soon as possible. This registration does not positively commit you to attending but allows us to get under way. If you give us your Email details we can quickly inform you of any changes to the program.

The registration tent will be open for business on Monday 12th at Ball Park Caravan Park, Bridge Road, Corowa. We will be allocating times for registering and will advise these times on a board outside the tent.

The Swim In is not organised by any specific vehicle club or clubs.
KVE Inc. is not a vehicle club. KVE Inc. does not intend to try to set any rules or regulations relevant to this gathering, but would like to bring to your attention the following points. This is, in part, relevant to our insurance cover.

(1) Vehicles attending must;
(a) be on full road registration,
or (b) be on conditional or club registration,
or (c) have a permit to move for the term of the event, valid in NSW,
and (d) have a minimum of third party property insurance cover.

(2) Weapons or replicas thereof come under the jurisdiction of the NSW Police and may only be displayed if the vehicle owner has a relevant Firearms Licence or a Commissioners Permit to do so.
The onus is totally on you the individual to comply with NSW laws.

(3) If an Amphibious Vehicle enters the river it then comes under the jurisdiction of the NSW Maritime Authority.
Once again the onus is totally on you to comply with their regulations.

Secretary. Jan Thompson

Karmen has already provided her weight for the purpose of these calculations. I propose that the experiment would better demonstrate the theorem if I were to give the whole contraption a push start from the top roundabout of Corowa's main st, AND THEN jump onto the rear axle pegs of the bike (I'm 6'5" and heavier than you). Your expectation of reaching the river does not seem possible looking at the theoretical results. I forecast that the tyres will give out upon negotiating the bottom roundabout and that we will all be flung headlong into the park. At least we will make a grand entrance for the swap meet!

Default Swap Meet Launch

Tony if you spot a spare tyre locking plate for a dodge wc51 as you are catapultaed into the park, grab it for me on your way past. Carman if you vere to the right on your way into the park you should make the Lions Club sausage sizzle this is always a good spot to grab a bite and take a rest after an adventure.

Tony,

I think maybe this has happened before, hence the name, Bangerang Park,..... coming from the noise of a bike wrapping itself around a tree

A bike with one gear? If that means an old fashioned bike/bicycle whose brakes are in the pedals, then yes, I can do it If the bike referred to is some sort of motorbike ... you'll have to learn me to drive it, but if it has gear shifts at the handles, then I can't

Keefy can't give or "not give" blessins' for a few days as he's off thinking how to get back at Jif for being "His Cheekiness".

Corowa here I come?

Master Tim Tams man ... you're 6'5" ... oh dear ... you must be Hannos Aussie brother ... Hanno, you never told me you had a brother ...

TTT, You're about a foot and a half taller than the wee bittie me. You'd fly a whole lot farther into the park than I would Geez, you might even fall across the river and be a sort of Aussie Bailey Bridge I can cross over to the other side of the river on

Default THE BIKE?

Carman this is Keefys bike, Keefy is a cameraman and film producer. I am fairly sure that if the bike has wheels and tyres that hold air that would be the limit of his technical expertise in this field.
I would not expect to find brakes on this bike it wll however make for a better film clip.

Good Luck on "The Bike" there will be at least one ex army Land Rover attending and I promise to bring baind aids and Detol.

Bandaids could be handy I think, as could the insect repellent

I think I'll also need some sunscreen, sunglasses, a big floppy hat, and some Tim Tams.

Gee, none of you will recognize me at all, so I'd better bring a Canadian Red Ensign sticker plus an MLU sticker plus a HELLO YOU BASTARDS, MY NAME IS YAPPY KOROWA KARTMANN name tag to stick on my hat. (will that do?)

(Geez, I really do hope that "bastard" IS an Aussie endearment as I did read it is )
