WW2 Christmas's
Here is the menu served us on board our troop ship Christmas day 1939. Also a photo of the Christmas card we were issued to send home later for Christmas. Probably 1942. By the way I never ate a single ounce of the dinner as I became sea sick one hour after I boarded our ship in Halifax and remained so until I saw the shores of Ireland, Many days later.

christmas card
a christmas card from england sent to father in 1942 when he was on the front line in new guinea from his aunty in england. from there we believe that he posted the card back to australia to his own parents who lived in queanbeyan at the time. My mother has recnetly been reading some letters that he sent home from Kokoda as well during 1942.

Quote:
The Christmas card from Eight Army appears to have the date Nov. 15, 1943 written on it. |
