Default Master cylinder check and top up

Can anyone tell me how to check the fluid level in the M38A1 ???

And do you have to take off the breather line to add fluid ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Howard

1: Remove the plate on the floor over the master cylinder,
2: With a small paintbrush or an air gun blow away any dirt. sand, debris away from the top of the master cylinder.
3: Remove the small breather line from the top of the filler cap.
4: Remove filler cap.
5: Check level, top up fluid. Leave about 1/2 inch of space in the top of the cylinder to allow for expansion. Filling the cylinder right up can result in locked brakes once things heat up, particularly if the breather tube is kinked or plugged.

Be very careful not to drop any particles of dirt into the master cylinder, as these can get into the cylinder and cause scoring and leakage. Use DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid from a clean container. Any contamination (water or oil especially) will not be good.
