This vehicle is in a "name this equipment contest on the AHF site.

It looks very like a Bombardier at first glance but the front suspension is all wrong as is the rear for any Bombardier I have seen.

Any ideas here??
Bill

Bill,
It is a GM Snowmobile 40mm Bofors gun carriage, pilot model built by GM of Canada c. 1942-3

The story of this, and many other unusual vehicles, will be the subject of Roger Lucy's next book "Secret Weapons of the Canadian Army" esxpected Fall, 2006. This will be similar in size to "Tools of the Trade (128pp, 150+ photos.)

Thanks to both of you. I had seen the photo some years ago but just could not place it.
