Default Is this a C15A or F15A water tank?

http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread...891#post311891

The starter of the thread says it is up for auction in the UK.

Not sure, see first pic.

I'd say Bedford MW, see 2nd pic.

Default So ...

Canadian tanks are oval in cross - section, UK tanks have slab sides?

I ask because the tank that was on Hamish's C15A was a Morris-Commercial tank and it was oval.

No, it is a postwar British water trailer, about 30 years ago we had one to transport Diesel, later we replaced the tank with a larger one.

Attached is a close up of Hanno's picture. Source: http://nimh-beeldbank.defensie.nl/

A really nice Chev in my opnion. Ex Bill Gregg?

Still think the tank in the UK is sourced from a Bedford MW. Those had the flat sides on the tank and the oval shaped lid. The Canadian ones seem to be completely oval shaped and have a round lid.

Could someone post a pic of the one we're discussing? I forgot my password and can't log in to see the pic.

Plus they have a compartment at the rear which is differently shaped and larger than the tank itself.

Stew, thanks. It was a wild guess. It seems the truck in question is part of a museum collection.

Here is another Chev bowser from the same photobucket album. You will find it in the Ford section

source: http://s661.photobucket.com/albums/u...FORD%20Family/

The album also includes some good pics of the compartment on the rear of the tank that Hanno mentioned.

Correction....the lid on the Canadian tank is also oval shape, but it seems the Canadian one is flat, while the British one has some ribs on it.
