Default lower Mk1 engine covers.

Hi, I have been fitting the lower engine covers on the tank hunter today, I have a question about the rear cover on the left hand side, Why is this cover got a large diagonal piece of it cut off, so as to not use the rear securing screw?. is it so you can access the change over valve. I am thinking the tank hunter lower engine covers were unique as you cant put in the forward securing screws on the rear lower covers as the 2 pounder supporting I beam gets in the way. , so it appears neither securing screw will afix that cover?. help???
kevin.
