Default Aussie travelling to canada

Hello to all Canadians who are reading this. Kathy and myself will be travelling to Langley to support our daughter who is in the Australian Outback Women's Gridiron Team playing in the World Championships. By the way their first game will be against the Canadian Women's team on the 24th June.

We will be in Langley from the 21st June until the 3rd July then travelling to Whistler for a few days before returning to Aus.

Are there any MLUers in the area and if so I was wondering if you would like to catch up if possible. It would be great to catch up and see your restorations and collections and talk shop .

Dave Mills - Humber restorer and owner.

Hello John, how is it all going? We will be arriving in Van Couver on the 21st picking up a hire car learning very quickly how to drive on the wrong side of the road and travelling to Langley.

Is it possible to PM me with your personal contact details so we can contact you once we are in your country?

Our daughters games are on the 24th, 27th and the 1st July so we will be travelling around between these dates.

We are humbled by your offer to meet you and share the MLU goodwill.

Cheers,

Dave & Kathy.

Default Okay....lets see what we can do!

Hi Dave: I was not trying to leave things till the last second....but I just wanted to see what my schedule was for that period of time. As an old ex pat from Oz, I feel I must return the hospitality that Australia gave me for the year and a half I was there in Sydney and about! I've talked to a couple of "hobby associates" and we are going to see what we can do for you and your family....whatever.
I would like you to PM me with your phone number in Oz and I'll give you a call on the weekend with my details and we'll take it from there. You can arrange your times with John when you get here.
I will give you a visit to the somewhat "I need to sort out this s""t hanger" where I store my CMP's and jeep. It's just down the street from Langley.
Anyway....stuff to talk about....we'll talk on this weekend.
Cheers.....Robert

Default Thank you our new Canadian Friends.

Wow, how good is the MLU Family!!!!

Went to meet up with John the other day and what a host, the Sherman Tank restorations are to be seen to be believed and we thank you John for opening up your Worksop and more importantly giving up your time to two Aussies who you only just met as we drove down your drive. Much appreciated and your hospitality never will be forgotten; a true gentleman.

Robert, thanks for getting in touch and for hosting us for the day on Sunday starting with Breakfast and then to your collection and a tour around the local area and then to his mates collection. We cannot wait and are just blown away by the Canadian hospitality.

For the first time I have seen and touched a WW2 Sherman with a service history and finally appreciated the enormity of its design, especially the added armour and the 6" armoured turrent; Just BRILLIANT!!!!!

Gents, any time you are in Aus, we will host you around our little area of the world.

We are looking forward to meeting up with you Robert and your mates.

Cheers,

Dave & Kathy.

Default Canadian Hospitality.

Kathy and I spent the day being hosted by Rob Morrison, chauffeured around, shouted a big breakfast and a tour to two amazing military vehicle collections followed by a guided tour of Vancouver and the surrounds topped off with a couple of ice cold beers. Which is only a very small token of our thanks to you Rob. The pepperoni is to die for!!!!!!!!!!

Gentlemen, your collections are superb and a credit to your dedication. Your hospitality and conversations just like we had been long lost friends was appreciated.

The Half track of Danny's is outstanding as is the wrecker and search lights just amazing pierces of engineering. Rob's HUP's, Monkey face Chevy and jeep are fantastic. Even was allowed to take a HUP for a drive around the airfield just magic.

To John, Robert and Danny, we cannot thank you enough for your openness, generosity and most of all your warm welcome to two Australians on holiday in Canada. Any time you are in the land of Aus and around our area the door will always be open to each of you and we truly hope that you take up the offer.

A couple of pics of a what is just a small part or our trip more to follow.

Cheers,

Dave & Kathy.
