Default MLU T-shirts

I am thinking of doing a run of MLU t shirts and want to gage interest here before I do anything...

Of course a portion of the proceeds would go to benefit the MLU forum.

Would probably be in the $20 CAN price range give or take, of course the more produced the better the price I can get, and of course shipping is extra..

Considering international shipping, perhaps clubs or individuals would prefer to get together on a bulk purchase.

Let me know, Chris

And BTW, for those so interested, most likely black or OD green with the MLU logo front and rear...

Thumbs up Shirts

Hey Chris

I for one would be very interested, would it be possible to post a pic of the proposed design for the shirt? Or will it just say MLU?

Chris,

Im nearly 50 years old chronologically, yet still a kid at heart.

If you want my 2 cents worth, a nice golf shirt in dry weave material that wicks is what we need for summer with a nice crest on left 'breast".

Frankly t shirts dont cut it anymore for me, im prepared to pay $35 for a shirt like this.

I had some made for the Union Jack Collection last summer and they were a delight to wear, very cool and smart

If I get a chance I will take a picture.

Lets raise the bar a bit and have something that is worth more than just doing oil changes with.

Robin

Trying to please all in regards to shirts will be impossible, see http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/sh...ghlight=shirts.
My advice, make the style/colour/print shirt YOU would like, in a few basic sizes. Most people will buy from what is available. At least that will get a few shirts out there instead of being put in the too hard basket.
Good Luck
Rich.

I would be interested as well. It would be nice to see maybe the MLU logo on one side and possibly a C Brod arrow on the other side as I have lots of shirts but nothing that is really Canadian in content, Just my 2 cents .

Default I'm in.

Chris,

I will follow the lead of my pal Robin and cast my vote for a golf shirt, with a small crest. I have had poor luck with dark colours, leaning more towards the standard 'camo' colours.

If possible I would take a shirt that made me 'cool and smart' as Robin describes (if such a garment exists).

My sort of idea was a simple T shirt, my thoughts leaning more toward the wrench turners, weekend warriors and combat pants, T shirt guys...
Wasn't planning on sending guys to a black tie affair or casual office dress...

No sample will be available as frankly I am not going to get into a design contest. Figured the MLU logo small on the front breast with another in large on the rear, maybe something cmp related, c broad arrow or the like.

No pleasing 100% of the people all of the time but need to garner interest before laying out the $$$$. The screens and artwork is where the cost is at so complicated multi colour designs or changes from front to rear designs incur extra costs.

I do appreciate the input and interest and will see where this goes.

I am working on a run of T shirts.
Will be available for the OMVA Summer Show in June... I will be there vending as usual.
Available in olive drab, black, red and maroon.
MLU on the front left breast for sure, working on back artwork. Possibly some Canadian Military vehicle content.
No options, this will be what I will have.
Will run large, xlarge and 2xl with a couple mediums and smalls throw in.
Aiming for $20 each
Portion of proceeds towards keeping MLU up and running
Will keep you guys posted.

I'm good for an XL in OD. Once you make a bit of profit from this, instead of donating it immediately to MLU why not use it for a run of Golf shirts as I would also take 1 or 2 of those.

Working with my guy on these right now.

To keep things reasonable, I think I am going to opt for a larger Maple Leaf Up crest on the front, same as the decals I did a while back and the website address across the back near the top "www.mapleleafup.net" in white lettering.

Also looking at another cool t-shirt that encompasses some thoughts suggested previously, that I think will be a winner.
With any luck, probably 2 to 3 weeks away...

Other ideas in the works as well, I know some guys have asked for golf shirts and hats. These items require embroidery which is a different process than screening Ts and is obviously more costly... I will be working up a quote on these and will gauge interest accordingly. Golf shirts, if done will be on an order only basis due to cost.

Yes, but firstly you have to ask from everybody to place an order so that you can pass forward the total numbers of the diff. sizes and collors to the production company.

I am getting a variety of sizes and colours done as I will be vending at the OMVA Summer Show in June. Whatever sells online is one thing, what goes at the show is another. Should things go well and I sell out it is no big issue as I can get another run done if orders warrant such.

Thumbs up Walking into a Minefield!!!

Hey Chris: Just a moment of "good Show" for taking up the challenge of doing what your doing. I tried this a number of years ago with another group here in B.C. and although my presentation to them was $100.00 cheaper than the $150.00 from the old guard, it got turned down. You can count me in for 6 shirts XL. At least some ones got the balls to stand up, money and all and take on a worth while venture. Good luck and keep the ball rolling.....Robert

Thanks for the vote of confidence and the commitment. The more " i'll take one, two etc " that I get, the easier it is to gauge my initial order.

Thanks for the offer, let me see what my guy is going to do. He does very large quantities on a daily basis as this is his one and only job.
I am thinking that if a few guys on the West Coast want to get together or someone out there wants to rep these, it would end up being cheaper to send a bulk order to one guy who can sort things out from there...Would work where guys are close in proximity or local club???

Thumbs up Good Point!

Hi Chris: I thought about that too. We could run it up the flag pole and see what comes of it. I don't know if the Aussies and Kiwis feel the same way. Their's could be shipped from Vancouver, if you were to send one bulk lot and have one person in each country distribute them.

Curious if the various members from the different counties would act as agents to distribute them within their borders. Would probably keep the cost down...I would think.

Food for thought....Robert

I went to see my guy today regarding the shirts...
The artwork came in and will be going back for some final touchups this weekend. Hopefully I will see the proofs early next week and after production will begin!!!
The shirts will feature the Maple Leaf Up signage on the front with the web address on the back. I am sure you guys will like them.
As an added bonus, I have also done up a special series run of a different shirt which I believe will be well taken too! The reveal will come when I get them as I will post sample pics, thanks to all and keep the orders coming!
Chris

Geez the Aussies have been quiet on this thread.. so have the Kiwi's for that matter.

Chris I'd be interested in having a look at what youve come up with if thats OK.

Think the idea is long overdue and well done for putting great intentions into action.
