Default Furniture/fittings rear of CMPs

I'm trying to get info for fixtures & fittings in the back of CMPs, primarily C8s.
One of the main points of information I need would be the construction of wooden/metal units. I'm trying to kit out my vehicle as a wireless truck but would like to get the methods of construction for the units correct.
If anyone could help with the main unit (The actual unit the wireless would sit on), for example would it be a drop down door at the front or a draw, I honestly don't know just by looking at the picture.

Colin,
I've attached another page from the 1A2 parts list. This shows the 2nd style battery attachments which would be the right ones if the 1A2 got used on the 12 cab trucks. As a general rule according to Gregg the 1A2s were used on cab 11s and the 1B2s were used on the cab 12s, but the odd 1A2 straggler could have been used on cab 12s. In the parts list page it shows wood screws holding the holding straps for the wire reel lockers so the whole 2nd style battery attachment is made of wood. You can see in the photo that the vertical dividers for the reels are dadoed into the horizontal boards.
The radio table is all metal construction. The handle on the sliding shelf is held on with 5/8" long rivets so that vertical flange must be folded double to need that size rivet. It looks like you'd have to have the drawer open to support the shelf when you wanted to use it.
The only help I can give you on measurements is the location of the mounting bolt holes. Two of the holes are 6 3/8" from the front body panel and the other two are 27" from the front panel. Two of them are 1 1/2" in from the outer vertical body panel and the other two are 11" in from the outer panel. Two of these bolts would be in line with the rear vertical part of the table and the other two would be just ahead of the front of the drawer.
Some other differences on the 2nd type body : two tail lights instead of one. Two seats instead of three. Another battery holder bolted on with the centre seat bolt holes. Different POW holder.
I hope you can make sense of my descriptions.

Thanks David, I was wondering have you come across any info on the large cabinet that the radio sits on? One picture on the other thread has finally shown me that the large panel is a drawer and the top section slides out to form a desk type section, but apart from that I have no info on construction or materials.

Colin, that's the cabinet on the left of the above photo and the measurements I gave are for it's mounting bolts. It was all metal construction but I don't have anything else to share for now, but I'm still looking.

Sorry David I should have read your posting properly and not tried multi tasking
The wire reel lockers you mention, would that be the three sections below the battery areas? I always thought these where for the signals satchels, can't remember where I got that info from????
And the construction of the cabinet would you know if it was all metal or mainly wood with metal plating?

Default Yes

Yes Colin,

The three little compartments you queried are definately for canvas signals satchels , the satchels held headphones and microphone etc.

I have good detailed pics of the 8 wt PU wireless setup , and it clearly shows the satchels located in the three compartments.

Mike,
In the 1A2 parts list it shows those compartments as wire reel lockers. Could you post some pix of the Morris setup and possibly email me some copies? Thanks.
