WTB: CPRC-26 Handset, Bag, and Instructions Card
I went off on a tangent and bought a pair of CPRC-26 Radios. So now I'm looking for a (1) Handset, (2) Carry Bags and (2) Alu Instruction Cards. And, hopefully the 49,00 or 49,50 Crystals x (2).

I've got an almost complete set on its way. When it arrives, I'll reconcile my holdings with the other two. Maybe we can trade some items. What colour are the disks on the upper part of the RT casing? Lemme know, and I can tell you in what role that radio was used. BTW, the seller that cletrac gave the link for WILL ship to Canada even though the site says no. How the hell I missed those 3 headsets has me stumped.

I paid $49 for a pair of CPRC26s, with yellow discs, from this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT I hope the freqs will work with the RT-524 I just got for my Skunque. The Italian radio guy,Pietro, has battery converters for $80. I think these will fit in a PRC68 pouch for temp use.

That particular range, at that particular time (c.1950s) was used for Infantry units as well as units attached for taskings. Compatibility should be OK with RT 524, since they operate 35.0 ~ 75.0, however range and operating conditions are dictated by antenna impedence, capacitance, balun ratio, end fed, centre fed, dipoles, and all sorts of other technical stuff which baffles me 'cause I'm only an operator, not a techie. Anyhow, have fun trying stuff out. You'd be surprised at some results, depending again on atmospheric conditions. I once had communications with an airborne Range Control chopper on an Artillery shoot in Yakima, Washington. I was using an AN/PRC-25 and buddy in the CP copied all while he was operating on an RT-524A. That was from an exercise area in CFB Borden, c.1983.
