Default "Herbie' catoons

The collection of Herbie catoons by Bing Coughlin have been republished and is available in a 185 page paperback. Having one of the original This Army publications and having seen Couglins work it was great to see it available again. I read about it in the book section of the Legion Magazine and it is available from Lee Valley Tools as part of their Classics Series that they have republished.
I would suggest that any one who can get one to do so. The cartoons where first printed in the Canadian Armys paper Maple Leaf, in the Second World War, starting in Italy and then moving up to NWE. The cartoons are sometimes ribald and dark but always funny.

Default Do you have a source

Hi Gordon

Is the book new or a reprint of a older book? Is the title "Herbie"? Sounds like an interesting book.

Cheers Phil

Default Down The Street

Gord,

There is a Lee Valley down the street from me in London. I shall stop in to see if they have this work.

I have a copy of "Herbie!" and enjoy it ( it has lots of pictures ).

Stewart

The Lee Valley store across the road is where I got 10 copies yesterday.

Phil

The publication is reprints of the original cartoons and some of them have annotations add to explain some of what is implied but may not be understood today. It helps the younger generation reader get the full benifit of the joke.
The book is : WW 11 Herbie Was Here Published by Algrove publishing Almonte Ontario and the order number is 49L8150.
