A couple of shots showing one of the new tank suits. It has the same weight as my smaller original but is much more supple and easy to move in compared to the stiffness of the original. My original is a size 5 but I had this one built as a fantasy size 7 so I can wear full battledress underneath if we ever play up north during the winter months. Temps were hovering around 50F when we took these so I was only wearing shorts and a tee shirt underneath so the suit hangs loosely on me but was nonetheless very comfortable.

PS - should have worn a tanker badge for the shots with the Sherman but it was a spur of the moment opportunity ;-)

Yes, the girl in the turret is my older daughter Tiffany who is currently 25 years old. She has been part of the Sherman crew for several years when the military base holds public events that it attends like this past weekends show battle.

Not sure if this will work but the link below is a short video clip my wife shot showing the Sherman maneuvering with her being TC.

Fixed the two links. They were tied to my wife's Facebook account so I moved them over to YouTube so they would work on the forum.

How did your suits arrive (which courier)?

Irfan told me on the 12th that I'd be getting mine "next week", but it didn't show. Now I'm getting suspicious emails from a company called TNT Express that wants me to open a link to get a receipt for something. The parcel number they give me doesn't jive with a TNT Express shipment number, so it looks like a phishing scam. I've got my kubel for sale on Milweb and have been getting spam emails from Europe & Asia since I posted it there.

Thanks.

I forget which shipping company delivered mine but it wasn't UPS or FedEx. Got a text on my phone saying I had to go to a link to verify delivery since it required a signature or signature release. Blew it off thinking it was suspicious and then got another a couple of days later. Decided to check it and it was legit. Package was delivered two days earlier than scheduled so a good thing I checked it.

Thanks David. I was still nervous about it so I contacted Irfan directly. He responded right away and said he was sending mine DHL, so I know the email a phishing scam.

Good deal, always best to play it safe. He's also always responded pretty quickly when I've messaged him so people shouldn't be shy if they want to ask him something direct.

This is because the 'plastic' layer between Outer and inner is not there in the repro. The original has a (What I think) waterproof layer in upper arms upper legs shoulders, breast and upper back.

Plastic sleeve? That was there in the sample. It is a modern substitute and is very flexible. When i checked that, I had to work at trying to separate the layers to feel the middle layer.

I had stressed to Irfan how important it was that the arms, chest and back have it. When we play field tacticals on rainy days ( rain is period!) we need the upper body waterproofing.

I am very surprised if he didn't have that in.

Let me email him and verify that.

Jim

I was a little to fast in the reply, sorry.....

Arms do not have that but the top 10 cm from shoulders do.
Chest does have it up to the top if the chest pockets (15cm from top seam down)
Also the upper 15cm of the back. (Measured from top seam)

Upper side of the legs (When driving) dont have it.

The original I refer to has a waterproofing the whole chest. (Partial) back, Full sleeves and top of the legs (till knee)

Added Some photos to my comparison album.

I received mine today and am very happy with it. It looks great, fits great (glad I went with a size 7), and I can move around in it. It doesn't weigh as much as an original, but that's fine by me. Irfan does really nice work!

He contacted me the other day on Facebook - wanting to query the sizes of one of the guys I had ordered for... so I assume he is now producing my order.

Default Sebastian - if you see this!

Sorry folks that you are seeing this. Not sure if Sebatian Hulshof is also a MLU member. Or if you know him, please contact him.

Hi Sebastian - If you want your suits before W&P, Irfan needs your postal address and your telephone number right away. The country shuts down for a week for a national holiday. If he doesn't get it int he mailto you tomorrow, it won't make it in time.

Please send that to Irfan and PLEASE copy me so I can send it by my mail too.

I realized I forgot post up my review. Overall very very happy with the finished product. The shipping with DHL was very fast. I did have issues with DHL not being able to find my address. However this had nothing to do with Irfan. And thankfully I'm only 20-25min away from a major DHL hub so I just picked it up there.

The issue I had with my order was the apparent wrong size being sent. this was rectified between myself, Irfan and Jim. On my reorder I ordered a size 8 from the info sizing sheet. I did this since the sizes seems to fit a bit small. I figured I could always hem them myself if need be. When my replacement arrived it was labeled a size 8. However the height still did not match up with the high given on the sizing sheet. Thankfully this one still fits and I've kept it.
