Sigs Thread
OK, here's a new one... a thread devoted exclusively to you sigs people. The kicker is, no grammatical English may be used... commo is to be totally in internationally accepted code groups, with, obviously, English interspersed as it would be in any morse message. Identify yourselves by station and follow all accepted protocols.
Links to code sites are acceptable, so the rest of us can try to follow along and learn. The lot of you are somewhat nuts (like modern-day programmers who seem to think in ones and zeros), but this could be fun AND educational....  Carry on, lads.

Thanks (or TNX) Geoff for opening up this thread.
As you have probably seen, and remarked upon, there are a bunch of us out there who share a common bond...that of military communications. Signals was always, in the British and Commonwealth Armies, considered to be both an Arm and a Service...a very great distinction...No other Corps, AFAICR, can claim the same. The opening up of this thread could lead to some MLUers having glazed over eyeballs as we "Sigs Pigs" babble on. Not to worry, we're all on the same "wavelength", right? Note to Frank...remember having to do 10 wpm CW for Gp 2 or 3 qual? Damned if I can even think that fast.!

I once (1963) witnessed the Inspector of Signals, Col Uller, watching a teleprinter. The message ended with QPM, QPM? Colonel - What does QPM mean. I dont know that one. Operator - Dont know sir! Col - Bengt! (AdC) what does QPM mean? Cpt Sylvén - Dont know sir! Col - Get the manual -- NOW! They didnt find it but the teleprinter started puffing again QPM, QPM? Col - Hell soldier! You know it! I can see it from your face! Op - Yes sir, how many days more in the army. Col - (low, sharp, hissing voice) Answer him: three days more than you beleive. Those three days were spent in jail. Like all written stuff ... verification and validation comes from those such as yourself Thanks dude! IF I can find the site again I'll challenge them to "verify and fix"
