Default English carrier gear change parts

Hello

A friend locally has an English Universal Carrier and is in need of the
gear select linkage that attaches to the gearbox.

Specifically the pivot bracket that bolts to the side of the gearbox and
the horn/drop arm pivoting device that terminates in a bell mouth
down alongside the gearbox.

Would anyone know where he can obtain these?

Regards
Doug

Doug, for the bit on the side of the gearbox, the Australian pattern one can work. The Brit. one is shorter because it doesn't need the reverse detent bit at the top. An advantage of the Aust. one is that it bolts down on to the top of the gearbox lid.(fits any lid) where as the correct one requires the correct lid. It bolts onto the two round horizonal (mounts a hand brake in a truck?) lugs. There are at least 2 lengths of these and some lids don't have them at all.
I can organise photos if required.

There are not many English carriers in Australia. How about some details and photos?

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, have been waiting on photo from carrier owner. The one he has sent is of a carrier that was at the Corowa MV meet, not of his own. (See attached.)

His is a "Universal Carrier Mk1/L (I have no idea what the "L" signifies?).

I have asked him to provide pics of his gearbox, so you lot can do a positive ID.

Regards
Doug

Very interesting picture. I have not seen that set up before. Is it an LP1?
I would like to see more photos. The rear mount is new to me.
The "L" stands for "land" as in land service (army) as opposed to A for Admiralty (navy)
Many things are marked this way.
If you friend was here, I could loan the parts to copy, but don't have spares to
part with.
Good luck locally.
