Default ATU No. 11

For my LArkspur C13 radio station.. I still need a ATU No. 11 .

These are rare as apparently they have radio active lettering / script on the dial... and for safety reasons, most were dumped rather than surplused.

I often wondered why the dials on my 122 sets "GLOWED" in the dark. A friend did a Geiger counter check and the levels are within safe he said.

Mike, truth be told, many Mvs from earlier days have or had the same issue due to the Lithium or Tritium paint used on dial faces...

The Dutch Army sold their surplussed DAF vehicles without the dashes because of this. Stupidly enough the dashes turned up in other parts auctions with the meters still in them.....

Cheers,

Default Mike

Somewhere on this forum there is a posting from someone who sounds like they know what they are talking about. In this instance the article refers to a MkII carrier speedo. My understanding is that they are ok to use, but do not strip them. the glass protects the user from the radiation. It may be the same with this unit. Many watch repairers developed cancers from the luminious dials of watches.
