The Whippet was a brand of small car produced by Willys Overland commencing in 1926 in the lead up to the depression.

What is a "Whipped" Overland?
Tony this is a Whippet belonging to a GAMC member. The fuel gauge is in the filler cap and when the fuel level is low it reads "EMTY"

In the background-
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/herbe...ter/1096321047

Says the inter will be scrapped (a shame, im sure someone somewhere wants it- put the word out!)

BUT... in the background i see a cab 13 cab, so one wonders if the Inter is free, is the blitz free (or cheap?) too?

Cheers,
Ian.

That's exactly what it is - I first saw this when it was the Toora tow truck and in really good condition back in the early 1970s, then it was sold to the museum at Arthur's Seat and spent many years rusting away in the salt air. When I last saw it there about ten years ago it was incredibly rotten.

Originally a Model WO73 C15 Wireless Signals (Aust).

Default Leyland Brothers Truck

Anyone know where this one went, as we have the brother one and would be interested to compare notes? Fear it may have been the dreaded scrapman who acquired it at the zero asking price. Photo credit goes to the previous owner, taken from the listing on gumtree. Thanks.

It might be handy next time to tell us about a Gumtree ad (particularly for a free vehicle) BEFORE the vehicle goes to scrap.

It might be handy to do your research before making assumptions. It was found in an image search after the advert was removed. If we had seen it before taken, then we would have acquired it ourselves. Please do not make assumptions without knowing the full circumstances. Thankyou and have a nice day.
