Default Wireless `N' section

In Jean Bouchery's book on the Cdn. Soldier, he has the breakdown of a Signals group. It goes from A to M in the listing of sections and goes into detail of each. Great!
Of course, I come across a `N' section attached to a Fd. Coy., RCE. This document is in the Standing Orders for a Fd. Coy, RCE.
It consisted of one vehicle and 3 RCCS personel. Is there an expert on the Signal Corps out there? Could the `N' just be a typo and it should really be `M'?
Thanks!
John

Wink

Perfect!
I'm really glad that you didn't find this in Canada's Fighting Vehicles! I don't think that I could have handled that .
So, it seems that Mr Bouchery made a mistake in his book. He has it listed as `M' section.
Thanks!

Default Signal organization

Mark: you beat me to the response!

John Sliz: There are, unfortunately, many errata in Bouchery's book.

Default Infantry vs Signals

Hey, Mark...if it wasn't for Signals, how would you ground pounders get your rats, water, ammo, if not by transmitted Adreps?

Don't forget also that Sigs are considered both an Arm and a Service.

Nulli Secundus, Pro Patria, Velox Versutus Vigilans, Victoria Rex Imperatore, Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense...etc, etc, etc.

Keep your flag at full staff!

Default Sigs Speak

Bob to Mark - long message to follow - over

Mark to Bob - send over

Bob to Mark - if you wish to use signals parlance please use the following.

Roger means "I understand"

Over means " I expect a response"

Roger Over means "I understand and I expect a response"

Out means "end of message, no further response required"

Roger Out means "I understand, no further response required"

Your response to
Quote:
Jon, what can I say, the Infantrymen work while the Signallers snooze.
should have just been Out

End of message - over

Mark to Bob - Roger Out

The term Wilco is often used and means "I will comply"

And finally the Signaller's motto is

"Think before you speak"

followed by the rapid learning of the phonetic alphabet which one finishes up reciting in ones sleep.

BTDT - Bob

Mark message - you mean like ALFA, BRAVO, CHARLIE, DELTA, ECHO, FOXTROT, etc..... I may be retired now and my voice procedure is a little rusty, but some things you never forget, message ends, Out.

Cheers
