Default Dodge D60S Dump Truck

Hello, this is my dodge d60s.
Does anybody have 'original' pictures of this truck?
Just pictures of the same trucks are welcome, because I don't have the storage box between cabine and body. Also the fueltank next to the chassis is missing.

Thanks,
Kurt.

Default PIC of D60S REQUIRED

Hello KURT

Pic of D60S took from the side are very rare (pic of truck during the war and after the war). Nevertheless I send you a pic of a modified DODGE D60S take on the left side. You can see the housing of the spare wheel. This truck is for sale 9.000 euros and the rear axle have been modified :single wheel at the front axle (like the D60L5) and dual wheel at the rear.
I think that the EATON axle with two speeds was replaced by an other axle with dual wheels (like your truck).
Actually in BELGIUM , I am in relation with an other guy who is also restoring a DODGE T110 . I hope to find other pic for you

Best regards Serge

Default I can add a little

The storage box that goes across the back of the cab, and the spare wheel mount on top, is a standard American item from before WW2, though not very common. The main difference with the CMP wheel clamps is that the 'clamshells' were wider to accomodate the wider wheels, as the pre-war ones were designed to clamp narrow civilian wheels.

The storage box and spare wheel mount from a Chevrolet or Ford CMP truck should be identical if you can find one.

I'd be surprised if the fuel tanks weren't the same as the ordinary D60 too.

Default Different kind of dodge t110 d60s

Hello

Following the answer of GORDON I would like to add some information about these trucks.
In fact there is two kinds of D60S. Some have single rear wheel and a EATON rear axle with two speeds . In this case the wheels are "british wheels" in two parts with 8 nuts and the tires are 1050X16. I don't know the code D60S ?????
The second kind own dual rear wheels with tire 8.25X20 and they have either an EATON axle with two speeds T110 L6 D60S (following the legend of the book of BART VANDERVEN page 236) or an EATON axle with only 1 speed.

As the tire have different width so the housing can not been the same. I join a pic of a D60S with a funny spare wheel housing but less large than the spare wheel housing the blue DODGE.

About the idea of GORDON to put a spare wheels used on a F60L or C60L I thing that the housing is too large for the truck of KURTS and non adequate because you will have no place for the tools box which is on the right side of the spare wheels housing. The best way should be to use a spare wheel housing of a GMC CCKW352

About the fuel tank there are the same than the fuel tank of lorry with long wheel base. In a future email ; I hope to give the dimension of the tool box

Best regards Serge

Lovely trucks guys. I think the blue one was on Leboncoin, accompanied by another green Dodge Canada(?)

Attached is a picture from the Dutch army archives. The side shot is marked as "D15" (?). There also is a head shot if you look for "Kipauto".
I have cut a detail of the spare wheel carrier from the bigger side shot.

Hello ALEX

The pic you show is a DODGE D60S (not a D15 which not exist with a tipper) with single wheel at the rear axle. It seems to be complete with the exception of the head light not original. The tires are 1050X16 and the spare wheel housing is a little more width than the spare wheel housing for the truck with dual wheels at the rear axle.

It seems that they have no mudguard at the rear for all versions of D60S.

I found the "blue DODGE" on the web sit "SECONDMAIN" and not le boncoin.

Best regards Serge

Hello,

thanks all for the information. I am going to look for a spare wheel housing of a GMC CCKW352.
The storage box will be a repro self made box. Just need the correct measurements...

Best regards,
Kurt.

Default 743 Tipper Coy RASC

A few photos from my Uncle Walters collection of his time in the RASC, in NW Europe 44/45.

Thanks to this forum for helping me ID the exact model of Tippers they used. I only knew it as a Canadian Dodge before. Now I know it is a D60S with single wheel rear axle and two part British wheels.

I won't go into my Uncles history on this thread, I'll just post some of the photos that show their tipper trucks. For those who would like to know more just click on the flickr links.

Kurk,

What is the origin of the rear body. It looks to have dual rear wheels.
