Surplus vehicles in the far north postwar
Again, as I clear out my stuff, I came across these photos I re-photoed) while up in Y'knife a few years ago. These belong with but were not included with the story and photos - Courage Cold and Controversy in issue 24 of Convoy Mag...and the follow up in issue 28--
Photos are circa late 40's -50's photo 1 shows UC with tracks off being welded /reparied by a guy(very hard to see-) in middle of photo between the DUK and two alligators photo 2- an ex-RCAF bulldozer with RCAF marking clearly visible phot 3- the two alligators heading to Snare river via Ft Rae phot 4- duk photo 5 UC- appears to still bear a CFR # but I cant make it out. In issue 28, it shows one of these two alligators at the Swords and Ploughshares Musuem near Kars Ont
