diamond t 969

hi all

i found the attached picture online at hankstruckpictures.com. this is a wartime diamond t 969 wrecker in use by the toronto Transit Commission circa 1946. what surprised me was that this truck was surplussed so early after the war, being that it was a specialist vehicle. i wonder how many companies in canada made use of surplus military vehicles?
