Default CMP Trailer?

Guys,

I found this out in the back forty at another location. It's obviously not a CMP but I don't see a Trailer Forum on MLU. It has an aluminum body, shovel attachment bracket on the front, wooden spoked wheels and what looks like a large spare tire storage area on the side. Is this a HU style body retrofitted to go on a trailer or is it just an old camping/hunt camp trailer?

Regards, Richard

Default Wire 5 Box pictures

Harry,

Could you post some pictures of what this "box" looks like on your C15A? I will see if I can take some pictures of the inside it for you and will post.

Thanks, Richard

Default C15A Radio Body

These bodies have been discussed before but doing a search on C15A and Radio Body I'm not finding the posts which would be most helpful. Does anybody remember the tread? Bob you have posted pictures I think.

Here is a link to some pictures of the body type taken at the CMP 84 Symposium http://www.canadianmilitarypattern.com/CMP84.htm look at pictures 26, 27, 35, 109, 231 and 232.

Plus information in Bill Gregg's and Bart Vanderveen's books.

If the box found is in good condition it would make a great unit for a C15A chassis

Cheers Phil

Default C15A Radio Body confirmed

Cliff, Phil & Harry,

Thank you very much for filling in the blanks. It seems coincidental that I am in possession of a C15A cab and chassis and that I was looking for something to put on the back. The radio body should set it up nicely. I will keep you guys posted and thanks again for digging up the information.

Happy New Year and cheers! - Richard

Default What more are you going to find...?

You are on one lucky streak......keep it up.

Careful moving the box .... the soft aluminum skin is easily damaged but then also easily repaired.

Grant here at the barn is working on one..... still doing work on the truck ... the redo of the box will come later.

Keep your eyes open for trailers or frame thereof with 16 inch CMP wheels.

Looking forward for the inside pictures.....don't be discouraged if the 1/4 inch ceiling panels have rotted and crashed to the floor.... that can be fixed.

When you look inside.....

on the right hand side should be a black panel with round knobs........

....be very careful it might be a self destruction device still armed to explode.......

.................

................................

......or a charging panel that is very hard to find......!!!!!

Default Moving the C15A Radio Body

Bob,

I will check out the inside, take some photos and post next week on MLU. Thanks for the heads up on the knobs. I will specifically take a photo of that area. I'm not sure what kind of trailer frame it is on, will take some pictures of that also.

The C15A that I have doesn't have a roof. I have access to two Cab12 bodies, that once fitted to the C15A chassis would look appropriate with the radio body on the back? I welcome all MLU comments.

Richard

Default Not sure....

Hi Richard

I am no the expert on this one BUT I don't think that kind of radio box was ever mounted on a cab 12 chassis configuration ........ but even if not historically correct it would look rather nice....

If you already have a good C15a rolling frame a cab 13 should be relatively easy to find.... a lot easier than finding a radio box.

Keep looking God only knows what else you will find......

Bob
