Default one for David Hayward?

David,

I have found an engine rebuild plate on a British Ford V8 engine, fitted to a WOT6. It says;
OVERHAULED BY 23 H.W.C. / FD

and is dated 1952. Now my question is this, was it a MoS contractor?, The "FD" part would appear to indicate Ford, but the 23 HWC part sounds like an army workshop.
