Question MLU Express: anyone from Northern America coming over to Holland in 2024?

All,

Is anyone from Northern America coming over to Holland in 2024? I am asking as I want to order Son of Sherman - Second Edition - The Sherman Design and Development, a 2 volume book set due in Fall 2023. As some of you know, I have a soft spot for the Sherman tank so I decided I need to add this set to my bookshelves.

But, it is a heavy two book set so I fear the shipping outside the US which could add 30 to 50% to the cost.

So, if anyone on here is planning to come over to Europe for the 80th liberation commemorations, and you're willing to bring along a 2 volume book set for me, then please email me to work something out.

Thanks in advance!

Default May be I can help....

Hi Hanno

I maintain a UPS Postal box and in most case shipping within the USA can be free or very cheap. Checkout what the cost would be to ship to Hogansburg NY, 13665...........I would pick it up and remail either from Canada or the USA which ever is cheaper.

Thanks Bob, that sorts out the first leg of the shipping: from the USA to Canada. The second leg from Canada to Europe is sorted for now, with an MLU member coming over to Normandy in 2024. By Fall this year when the books are published, I'll get back to you for shipping addresses.

The plan is to organise another MLU Meetup like in 2019: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=34248

Outside of MLU there are dozens if not hundreds of large and small events, commemorations and other activities in the making. If you plan to come over to Europe, one would have to think hard about coming to France in June or to Holland in September.

It’s turned out the cost of sending these books to Europe is US$80, on top of the purchase price of US$149 for the set. So I parted with around €210 the other day for a new edition of a book I already own …
