Default fuel tanks

May I ask a possibly stupid question. Are fuel tanks different on Ford and Chevy. I was looking at pictures and they look similar. Wasn't sure if they would interchange.

Well with Australian CMP's the main difference is with the type of sender unit used. Not sure if it is that way Canadian built ones

One type is fixed with 5 screws and the other 6. Also the appearence is different too!
