Default Huntsville Legion Remembrance Day

On November 11th, we had the opportunity to return the Huntsville Legion MkII carrier to parade status after a 26 year hiatus. We started the refurbishment and overhaul of this carrier 4 years ago. It had sat outside of the Legion as a static display for over 22 years and a small group of us just didn't want to see it rust away into oblivion. While restoration continues through this winter, the Huntsville Legion has constructed a proper dry, viewable storage building for the carrier. It will be re-dedicated to the Legion in May 2012 as part of the Huntsville Legion's 80th anniversary celebrations. Attached are a couple of shots of it in the snow and on parade. (The carrier was off loaded the night before and I wish I had a picture of it in the dark, front and rear lights on, instrument light on, purring a way at a smooth idle)

Richard,
I just looked and it doesn't appear to be an AOP. It only has a single antenna mount in the left rear corner. It also has 2 flip down rear seats mounted to the mid hull transom and two 2" diameter holes that are located in the armour, next to the observers seat. (Through the back and out the side) We dummied the missing pieces of front armour with two pieces of plywood and painted them green. This would give the front armour the appearance of an AOP.
