Default Warriors Day Parade, London

The Western Fair Assoc. are pondering expanding the parade by covering trucking and fuel expenses. They are also talking about having the vehicles that participate in the parade on display, inside, for the duration of the fair.
Comments? Interest?
This will be the 62nd annual Warriors Day Parade. Dates are Sept. 7 for the parade, and Sept 7-15 for the display.

I'd be in with my two, though would like to know more about the week layover. Inside? Outside? How secure?

I think what Bruce is trying to inquire about is how safe will the vehicles be. After seeing what happens at several shows I'm quite sure that the Visigoths and Vandals have left enough spawn on this earth that we should be concerned. Perhaps the Western Fair Association people could give us some assurances that the vehicles won't be a free for all for people to crawl through and over. Doing the Saturday parade is one thing leaving a vehicle for a week is quite another.

Default I am also interested.

I share the concerns about leaving my stuff, but am eager to hear more details. I am good to go now for the parade.

The folks at the fair have said inside display (as in first post). I would personally be telling the powers that be what MY conditions will be before I commit to the inside display. Saying that, they have been very good in past dealings. Will convey more info when I get it.

OK. The fair folks have finally replied. I told them it's getting late in the day to organise this, but here goes.
They would like vehicles set up in the Progress building Thursday, Sept 4. Fair opens on the 5th. For the Warriors Day Parade on the 6th, police escort from the fairgrounds to the form up point for the parade. After the parade, the vehicles go back inside until the 15th, when transport will be laid on to return vehicles home. Transport will be provided both ways. Thoughts? I will hopefully see a bunch of people this weekend.

It appears that the fair association is not moving too fast on this one. They have said that for next year, they will gather vehicles for the 70th of VE Day. Anyone interested in coming to this years Warriors Day Parade should be at the Boyle Community Centre, the corner of Princess and Charlotte streets, just east of Quebec St. by 1000hrs. Parade steps off at 1130hrs, should be all wound up by 1300hrs. I am trying to arrange tow vehicle parking close by. Please let me know if you can attend, as they are asking for numbers to alot for marshalling space.

Default Good to Go

Perry,

Please put me down for a T-16 sized spot in the parade, right behind a Sexton or other Carrier.

I have looked ahead at the weather forecast, and it looks like a sunny warm day that day.
