HI ALL,
I just joined this forum. I am from Israel, and I own a 1944 carrier which I am not sure what mk is it. it is first stages of restoration. Although it was outside the last 50 years, it is in pretty good condition. I pulled the engine out. it is good for nothing. but the transmisson is good. hte steering system was missing, but I found downer for this. I miss the dash panel and will be happy to get any help about it.

Welcome and congrats on your find! Looks like its externally in pretty decent shape. Cheery paint job too!

There are some folks on here that have forgotten more about carriers than I'll ever know and they are a great resource for info and expertise.

hi all,
although one might think, presarvation of militery veuchles in Israel is not common. as for me, I am a car collector, and interesting in militery history.
about carriers in israel- the Israely army never realy used them. most of carries in the ccountry where capture from the Egypt army in the suez conflict in 1956. few of them can be seen in militery museum. but, i know of only one that was restored. I found my in a sattelment in the north, kids played on it, and that is why it was painted very colorfull, that was the reason that it was full of sand. although the rod on the top of the tower of the transmisson was missing, and the trany was exposed to weather, rain, and sand, i was amazed to find, that after cleaning it, it functions. also found that the wheels turns free. i already got a good ford engine. I would like to bring it to a runing condition first. now I am restoring the sreering system. it took me some time to identify what kind on screwing are there. omg, 7/16 bsf???
so, I enjoy very much the experience.

A friend of Mine spent time in that area as a Canadian Peacekeeper found a Carrier
and Got it Running with some parts from Canada .They Kept it as their own Dunebuggy until it was Taken away from them.
I was told the story in passing .I will find out the location unit and time period

Well done Arie and good luck. My own carrier is a MK2 built 1944. I do hear from other Israeli guys who collect and restore British forces motorcycles. Ron

Default Carrier parts

Hi Arie,
Looks like a great project. PM me with your email info and I'll send you a long list of Carrier parts that I have available here in Canada. Many are small decorative parts that are easy to mail. ....... Brian

Hello Arie,

You will find that all hull fittings are BSF thread form, and all engine, transmission and rear axle are SAE threads. Good luck with the restoration, welcome to the fraternity!
