Default KL Welder on Kijiji

Just spotted this on kijiji in Alberta: http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ295558838

If anyone is trying to restore a KL welding lorry, then they will know how hard it is to find one of these. Price seems very reasonable too.

No connection with the seller, just thought I would pass it on.

Default Welder

Nice unit ,not to many noticeable mods other than the fuel tank and the holes for the cables patched over . That ford gauge cluster is a hard one to find, still looking.

My guess is a cut down M135 box. Not original to the truck, but what do you do if you have access to a box of one type and lack one of the other, I know I'd be tempted. OK as long as you don't try to pass it off as original. It is better to have the truck usable (used) and cared for but not original than neglected until all parts can be found (and possibly scrapped because no one cared for it). If anyone knows of a spare original box or knows how to get a set of plans to reproduce an original type box perhaps either the buyer or seller will consider replacing the current box with an original style....

Default It has not sold yet....

Hi Rob

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder !!!!..... ... and the buyer would need to be using a white cane.....

I believe the seller is known to some of us.... been quietly selling and trying to sell other similar items..... or at least testing out the market.

Bob

I know the owner and have seen the truck in person here in Cornwall. I have no experience with CMPs so I couldn't tell you the good and bad of this vehicle.

The owner also has a carrier and a couple MBs/GPW

Default Yep...... that is the one

Would you say the truck is approx. 134 inches on the wheel base....? may have been a LAAT at one time but now sports a modified GS box.

Nice job finishing it but he took a few liberties with the restoration......

Default On another quick topic.......

Bob.....just got off the phone to Joel (Port Colborne). Understand you were down there and bought up his parts vehicle. Sounds like you did well from the bits in the back.

He sent me a wish list for his restoration....and I think I've got his ass covered. Keep you posted.....Robert

Default Yes I did.....

Could not let it get away...... Musketeer #3, Grant, got that one.

Body is badly rusted but a lot of good needed parts and Grant has not yet fully emptied the cargo box. Frame is very good....even engine is still turning free...... engine will be lubbed and cocooned sealed up for the time being.

Nice bunch of young lads in Port Colborne.

We are also available to help should he need help with somethings..... I will be looking up some stuff for him as well.

Bob

" I have a 1942 C15 4x4(101" wheel base) military truck for sale. Showing very little surface rust, comes with military box on back end for carrying cargo. The box is not in the picture but is in decent shape.Motor does not run. This would make an ultimate offroader or restore to military condition.Open to offers. Call Ron 780-608-5261 "

Comment: This truck looks too good to become the "ultimate offroader".

Also on Kijiji Manitoba (Carberry) a thing that looks like it started life as a CMP. Ford if the shocks are anything to go by.
