Default Mk II* large kit locker

I am aware that the large kit locker on the MkII* carrier is deeper than the one on the Mk I. I need to get the locker made for my Mk II and I have an original locker on my Mk I for most of the dimensions/construction, but if someone could :
a. Give me a measurement for the depth of the locker on the Mk II
b. confirm that the other dimensions are the same
I would be very grateful
thanks
Rick

The dimensions of mine are :-
Length= 47 1/2"
height = 14 3/4" (plus the toggle catches)
depth = 10"

I need a big chunk of someones old tan/khaki tilt if there's anything going! Ron

Thanks Ron
Just remeasured my Mk I box (external dimensions of box, not lid which overhangs) and get 47.25in x 12.5in x 7.125in. So the length is essentially the same but it would appear the width and depth are both increased, not just the depth as I thought.

Hello Rick, do you know where you will get your locker made? I need a locker for my Mk1*, if the only difference is the depth, would they do it cheaper if they were making two?

Do you have any dimensions or pictures of the Mk locker?

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom
I can certainly send you accurate measurements and lots of photos of the Mk I box. If you want this, PM me with your e mail address. However if you can borrow one that would be better as then the fabricator will get all the returns and the construction correct. In addition, if memory serves me correctly, the hinges on the British and Canadian versions are different. The latches are castings, Ben Hawkins used to make these.
cheers
Rick

Thank you to both Rick's,

I have a fabricator which could copy one, so I would gratefully copy the one you have Mr Wedlock. I quite fancy trying to make one, but I imagine I would need a sheet metal folder?

What's the difference between the English and Canadian versions?

Cheers,

Tom

Not sure, always thought it was Mk2.

If we can get an accurate pattern I am happy to produce some repro boxes

Rick,
I have some sketches and photos I took of the box on my Canadian MK2* for Petr Brezina when he was looking to make a box. If these would help let me know and I'll email them to you. I will have my Carrier at War & Peace all week if anyone wishes to take measurements.
