Hello Guys,
Many thanks for all the info about the radiator! All this info will really help me further. David |

Just a note to further add. The engine in the Lynx chassis does sit offset to the center line, to line up with the transfer case input shaft, That is why the crank hole will be off set in the radiator core , as the radiator itself sits evenly in the chassis, Cheers Andrew.

In Italy the guys from SPA in San Marino are restoring a LYNX II.
It seems that they found a radiator for there project but is missing the crank hole. I assume that this is a standard flathead radiator? All the photos of there project you can seen on FB: https://www.facebook.com/SPAMilitare...13339722015624 |

I don't know if you can call it a "standard " flathead radiator as there are many different versions. the CMP range is quite different, the bus versions of that vintage are similar , but header tanks are different, as I said the most identical one I have seen that is almost the same is from the larger rear engine chassis' that were built. Cheers Andrew.

Dingo
Guys,
Thought that I would share this picture that I received from a friend. While not about Lynxes, it does show 1919 Brownings mounted on Dingoes in service with my regiment of interest, the RCDs. While I now have many pictures of Lynxes with pintle mounted Brownings, I wonder at how "official" these upgrades actually were. Peter |

M1919 Brownings on For Lynx
It seems that it started with a field modification by the Manitoba Dragoons and was subject to a study for usefulness by the military later on.
I do not have the AFV Report No. 7, so don’t know what the official outcome was.

Interesting set of photos.
What is the pipe brace fitted into the sand channel bracket for? With that there they would not be able to use the sand channel brackets as originally intended. I have highlighted the piece in question as there is no sign of something like that on my Lynx. Thanks Rick

Aquino ready
Guys,
The Lynx started up after it's winter hiatus with the minimum of grumbling. Took her for a spin and she performed better than I did. Looking forward to the upcoming Aquino weekend show at the Oshawa Tank museum. First show of the year and looking forward to reconnecting with old friends. Peter |

Lynx of a different colour
Guys,
At the recent airshow at CFB Borden I had the opportunity to go for a spin in a M113 C&R "Lynx" thanks to Frank Von Rosenstiel. This version of the Lynx served with the Canadian Forces from the late 60s to the early 90s. The wife was less than enthusiastic when she heard that I was considering trading Lynxes if they threw in an extra set of tracks. Frank, thanks again, it was a blast. Peter |

Pintle mounted Browning
Guys,
Borrowed this picture from a post by "Marco", back in 2006, regarding Staghound equipment. Taken at war's end of the 12th Manitoba Dragoons turning over their equipment. Certainly seems as if pintle mounted 0.30 caliber Brownings were standard equipment on Lynx 11s, not limited to the occasional exception. Peter |

Joyride
Guys,
We had some good friends over for the weekend and of course it resulted in some joyrides in the Lynx. Good practice for the upcoming OMVA Bivouac on the weekend of the 20th. Peter https://youtube.com/shorts/hKq58vbmxXI |

Lynx versus Lynx
Guys,
Had a great time at the OMVA Bivouac this weekend despite the torrential downpour on Sunday. Besides meeting old and new friends, where do you see two distinctly different reconnaissance vehicles that served with our Forces and both called Lynxes ? Peter |

Lynx 11 ID ??
Guys,
I found this picture on the internet. I'm looking to find where this Lynx is located and who owns it. Judging by the registration number painted on the front storage bin, I'm assuming that it is somewhere in Europe. Any assistance would be welcomed. Thanks, Peter |

Aquino Bound
Guys,
Gerry Foster came over on Monday evening and upgraded some of my gauges that were frustrating me. Great to now have some accurate feedback on engine performance. Now getting ready for the upcoming OMVA gathering this weekend in Oshawa at the Ontario Regiment Museum. It will be great to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones. Peter r |

Aquino weekend
Guys,
Spent the weekend at the Aquino show on the grounds of the Ontario Regiment Museum. This event continues to grow and there is always something new to see. I was able to meet Charles Abdouch who along with his wife Dora donated a 1944 Daimler Dingo to the museum, and drove the Lynx over to meet it's British inspiration. The highlight of my weekend was to meet Michael Miller and the Team from the CWM who restored their Ram Kangaroo and participated in the daily events. The sights and sounds of the Wright radial engine has to seen and heard to be truly appreciated. Peter |

Video interview
Guys,
While I was at the Aquino show, I was interviewed by Sofilein, a very capable social media blogger. The interview has been released on You Tube and a link posted on the MLU Facebook page. For those Luddites like myself who don't use Facebook, here is a link to the video. Peter https://youtu.be/bBW8vIA6GVo Last edited by Peter Duggan; 19-07-23 at 18:02. Reason: title correction |
