Default Missing pic

Brad,
Was the picture on another site, or one you're trying to upload?

If it's already online, the best way is to open the image in a new window, copy that location, then past that using the IMG button in the write message selection.

If you're trying to upload, then click Choose File then navigate to it.

Default Thanks for posting them Keith..

If there was a prize for the most unusual, weirdess and most well done conversion that one takes the cake.

How did it stay unnoticed for so long.......

Makes you wonder what it was like to ride inside on a curvy hilly road...????

Brad, thanks for taking these pictures (and thanks to Keith for hosting them). Seems like a favourite Canadian pastime to buy (probably swap for a six-pack or two) an old Army truck and convert it into some sort of mobile "hunting shack". I've seen pics of a C8A HUP molested in the same sort of way. Line the interior with spray-on foam, fit a heater and some comfy chairs. Going out hunting, huh? I think it's just a way of getting away from the missus to quietly drink a beer or two with some buddies! That's why it's based on a truck: as soon as the missus finds out where you're at, you can drive away and hide someplace else

...it would definitely cost a couple of TWO-FOURS (look it up) and be turned into a mobile PALACE quite capable of supporting femalia lifeforms, thankyou very much. Not having clean nice smelling people around ,when you are COMMUNING with nature, would be folly...who would clean the fish?...snort

Googled it - came up with http://www.dooryard.ca/two-four.html. I also read the second most Canadian term after "eh?" is "two four". As in: "Strap that two-four to the back of the Ski-Doo, eh?"
Now, if it is indeed the second most Canadian term, how come I've never heard Sunray use it?!? I mean, he's probably one of the reasons they started shipping them 24 at a time

Hunting ... communing with nature ... femalia lifeforms ... fish, I can't see the connection - you lost me bigtime. But hey, I'm only a citydweller eh?

YOu see, he's graduated to TWO-SIXER's and 60 POUNDERS so the TWO-FOURS have been relegated to gargling in the morning and church etc.
As for nature, hop on that big aluminun big you see flying overhead and get your ass to Edmonton. I'll pick you up and show you some of the most remote and unspoiled territory you will ever experience. Some aw inspiring sites in the Northwest Territories. The Nahanni has canyons as deep as the Grand canyon with no tourist shops around. Great Slave lake has the largest body of fresh water in the world, 2nd in surface size to one in Russia I believe. The Mackenzie River is NUmber 5 or thereabouts , etc etc. When you see signs like " No services next 280km " you know you aren't in Kansas anymore.

Default kratje

Knowing now what a two-four is, I must confess a kratje is a much-used trading currency here in Holland as well. Today, a kratje of Mr. Heineken's finest will set you back about €10 (roughly CDN$1.30/litre - cheaper than petrol!), but you can get generic beer for about half that price.
I'm sure I will be overwhelmed by your country's remote and unspoiled territory (being one of 16 million living on 16,000 square miles), so I'll make sure to bring a few kratjes to calm down my nerves in your hunting shack, true Canadian style

HUNTING SHACK!?! CHEAP BEER!!! God you Yrrupeons are spoiled! Haven't you heard of a tent?
try three highways 1,171,918 square kilometers and 25,000 people.
Bring the missus and the lad, they can meet my new lad, and we can then go CMP hunting in Alberta afterward, maybe find you a diamond or two in Yellowknife you can take home with you.

Certain of us have evolved, unlike those nasty country bumpkins up north. When we say, "Hon, I'm going to the Beer Store", it's automatically assumed we're going for a two-four. What could be simpler?

Default Not in Kansas...

...is from the Wizard of OZ (no, not Australia ) referring to Dorothy and Toto being whisked away from Kanas to the land of Oz.
In my reference "no services next 280km or whatever" refers to there being no towns or gas stations or restaurants (layabouts) etc for 280 km before you hit the next one. Lots of camping and roughing it if you choose though.
When I am heading to the big City, Edmonton, there is a 280KM, a 300KM, a 200KM ,and a 100km before you run into heavy enough population to have small towns and gas stations in abundance, then you only have 500km or so to go.

true, but if we let just ANYBODY in on it...Keefy and backcountry boys, though standing on their heads ,know , Alex knows...Tell you what , if a prospective candidate can sit STILL in a moving car for 5 hours without having to pee or buy junkfood, can s@#T in the woods like a bear ,and can sit in a boat 'fishing' caring more about the net "COOLING BEVERAGES" in the water than whether or not he has a hook on the line....he's in.

I can do that - I regularly sit in my car for 5 hours (without going anywhere, by the way), beverage cooling is more important to me than actually sailing. Have to work on the s@#Ting in the woods, though. Can you let me in as a prospective member? Hint: cheap beer ... see http://www.goedkoopbier.nl/ ... they don't seem to ship overseas though

Alright, sounds fair, you are in "conditionally" until you pass the practical part of the exam.
It should be noted that bribery IS part of the practical as is any sort of affected hero worhsip, after a couple of lubricators , its all good. Doesn't hurt to be able to scratch your head and say things like " I dunno" "It was over there the last I saw it" "did we really need that" " I thought you...( filled it up/brought it/said lock it/had the key/etc)" " Think it'll run after being submerged" "what map" "screw it" "We are so screwed"
So when should we schedule that exam for?
