Carrier Tool Box
Hi everyone.
I just got my tool box lid from John Bizal attached the other day. I have one question. What kind of material was used as the "no slip" stuff on the lid inbetween the metal srips. My original lid has the remains of the strips but the material was way to far gone. Any suggestions?

Thanks Lynn
I guess its a thick piece of the canvas? Mike I didn't make the entire box as it was only the lid that was rusted out. The box itself was in good shape. The hinge had completely rusted out.

Does anyone know what was supposed to attach to these two holes on the side of the box?

Jordan
the canvas is padded out with something like horse hair or something like that . (it sticks up a bit)
The two holes hold a piece of fibre board into which are screwed two spare spark plugs.

There is some where a list of the spares carried in this box. spare bulbs etc. Just guessing from memory the fibre board would be 3/8 or 10mm thick and probably 30mm wide. It's pretty obvious about where the spark plugs would go.

The two holes have two long bolts that have springs on them and these are attached to a metal plate that was drilled and tapped for two spark plugs. I have an NOS plate, and there was enough left of my originals to see how it was attached. This way, the spark plugs were allowed to float if you will to protect them from breakage. If anyone needs a photo, I can e on to you so you can see how it is set up. I used a piece of canvas and a thin layer of foam to make up the rub strip.

HI guys
Thanks for the info. I first couldn't figure out what the foam padding was for that was listed in the part manual. But the dims. that are given are just right for fitting underneath the canvas on the "no slip" part. John if you couldn email me a picture/pictures that would be great.
