Default any one in canada have a m2/m3 halftrack?

Im looking to purchase a m2/3 half track, and need to know if i have to register with Controlled Goods Directorate to own? I asked them directly, but the guy gave me a lame answer saying he couldn't answer that, but if I found one, i would know then due to the seller asking for it?

Default Controlled Goods

You don't have to register anything. If it is coming into this country you should (for your own sake) use an importer with a controlled Goods
permit to import it. Then it will come directly to your door with no problems.
They are not interested in what changes hands here.

A warning to everyone! Stay away from the controlled goods directorate. Don't ask anything, they will only screw this hobby here in Canada. Anything changing hands here in Canada, they do not need to know about, and frankly, they couldn't care less about. Even when importing vehicles, it is only modern armour that could cause trouble, but is unlikely as there are three ministries invovled and one does not know what the other two are doing. I was steered to register by foreign affairs, and now must "pay the piper".

There is a very private collection in Quebec with one of each. I saw them 2 yrs ago. He rebuilt them from whatever condition to their current high standard. I have no idea how long they have been in Canada, or if they ever left after delivery. Nor do I know if they have road registrations.
