If it's not going to be powered up its better to get the none functioning variant... The hole etc is still present in the base but the PYE connector is omitted. The base can be unscrewed from the isolator.

It will save me making link wires and searching out connectors and clamp bars.
And it will save you money too !

Bear with me, these have been more of a twat to reproduce than I ever imagined !!
Awesome job

Update.

Ian and Lauren your bases have been dispatched, I will catch up with you both reference postage costs, but no rush (I am on nightshifts) John yours are boxed awaiting postage quotes, I have another pair going to Canada at the same time, shown below..... These are a pair of repair jobs done on originals. Both fully functional now ! So if you have brittle B set bases lying around then don't chuck them, they can be repaired ! And Eric yours are in the moulds as I type

Richard, I have one with the metal top, but base is torn off. No center conductor. Is it worth sending over? Or just cut the metal top off to send?

I have another complete, but so limp, the antenna leans over to a 50 degree angle! (reminds me of something else, but I can't quite get my hands around it...)

I have another on one of the clamps for emergencies that seems sort of brittle...

And another still in the wrapper.

I am thinking to swap the clamp one for the saggy one and send that over. Just the metal bits. Might as well keep the rubber for later re-use for a display or such.

Have you had good luck making 100% complete new ones? If so, how much?

WOuld like 2.

And I keep the complete ones here for rainy days...

Jim

Yes Ian and Lauren both have 100% working repro, I am short of PYE connectors to keep knocking them out. Ian sure they will give honest feedback on what they received.

I can resurrect originals no problem just send me what you got and what you want done.

The Guinea pigs were sold workers for £65 each (totally undersold myself as the work involved is ridiculous)

Drop me an email or message on FB and we will work something out I am sure.

I have Pye connectors if you need them.

(Rather cheaper than the stupid prices on eBay, too!)

Chris.

I will chuck some in for you

I need you to settle up for the postage though :-)

On the posts I have had access to, all have been 4ba screws, two main types were used, pan head slot drive, or cheese head slot drive.

Just wanted to leave some feedback for Richard on the bases. I sent two of mine over to him due to broken rubber. I received them last week and if I did not know better I would think he merely found a large crate of new old stock mounts. They were perfect right down to the lettering on the rubber.

Thank you Richard.....I would far rather have a reproduction mount that will not break than an original that shears the first time you happen to brush by it.

No problems Rob, thanks for the feedback.

I have six full builds on the go at the moment along with working on my own carrier, it ain't half time consuming !

Much prefer the repair work
