Ouch....that hurts! What a shame, as all trucks seem pretty restorable. What's the story about this Mariano?.....a junk yard needed to be cleared?

That's an interesting conversion to the beetle back....room for 2 or 3 spare wheels, extra bins and racks. interesting to see. It does look like a very nice and straight truck.
Thanks for sharing these pictures Mariano.

Hi Alex
Argentina received thousands of cmps and those that ended their days as scrap metal are those that were found for many years in the hands of merchants who bought them at auction and who only wanted to sell them. But a combination of high prices, many parts shortages, and little demand to restore them because of their high costs, led to them ending up and selling them for scrap weight. Very Sad...

Thanks for sharing these pictures Mariano.
This spare wheel carrier is a upgrade made by our army in the 1950s.

Thanks Mariano. I agree.....still very sad; especially as some of the CMP variants in Argentina are quite rare anywhere else in the world...like the late version Gun tractors....and the F60T tractor and trailer, but also original beetle back bodies!

The Argentinian conversion is more elaborate than when you glance over it. Thanks for sharing this info, Mariano

Hanno
Argentina even in the 50's kept many of its transports and movement of war material with horses. And this Truck was modified to carry the necessary blacksmithing tools for the repair of carriages and artillery with wooden wheels. This is a vintage drawing of one of these modifications.
