Default Flathead wire shield

The wires from my distributor are very close to the pulley.
I think the solution would be to make a pair of wire shields.
Does anyone have to take photos and measurements?
Thanks in advance!

They do make 90° ends for spark plug wires which would appear to be perfect for your application. Kind of depends if they would fit the distributor nibs.

Default Ford Flathead V8- Unused tapped holes in block

Hi Mariano,

Interesting photo. Those bonding straps to the conduit pass inside the HT wire shields at the distributor. Is this to prevent them fouling moving parts or to have them run close to the wires right up to the distributor for radio noise suppression? Cancel induction perhaps?

For many years I wondered why the wartime and post war blocks had unused tapped holes in the front of the block. I filled mine with Hex head screws to keep dirt out mainly until I knew what they were used for. I even found the beginning of a mud wasp nest in one. They love small holes to start.

It seems they were there for the earlier engine mounts before they were made part of the water pumps and Ford just continued them on which came in handy later for bonding strap attachment points.

Hope this is of some interest.
