Default Return of US material to US

interesting section on a Canadian government offer to purchase form;

RETURN TO THE U.S. - If the property described hereon is of United States origin, your attention is directed to the fact that, under United States law, excess United States Government property sold abroad may not be imported into the United States except upon determination of the Secretary of Agriculture, in the case of the agricultural commodities, foods or cotton or woolen goods, or the Secretary of Commerce, in the case of other property, that such importation would relieve domestic shortages or otherwise be beneficial to the economy of the United States.

That secretary must be pretty busy.

Default How does she feel about

Lend-Lease stuff?

Can one, just for an example, sell a returned to Canada post-war US-built armoured vehicle to a collector in the US, then export it to that collector?

Just wondering.

Default Lend-Lease

This paragraph in the contract was just for government disposal and in no way implies lend lease stuff Stew. In fact I would wager the people writing the contract have no idea about lend lease. This was Crown assets selling surplus to requirement stuff, like 1995 trucks , used lightbulbs,old fax machines, cans of grease, etc etc. . So if it was produced in the states and you want to repatriat it, whatever it is , better check with the authorities so you don't get an overzealous border guard. "Scuse me sir, I'll have to confiscate those toilet paper holders as they were produced in the states and you're paperwork ain't in order son"...

I like the cotton one, imagine Pam Andersons Sweater getting impounded heading home after visiting her family in Vancouver
