Default Died...... Steve Alford

An original member of the Toronto Club in 1976. Steve was a

hard worker with the vehicles and had many Canadian ones,

some restored, some "in process". He was a regular at Don Smith's shop

in Scarborough, and the one on Midland Ave and a founder of the "Secret

Storm". the group of four in Scarborough, including Brian Cox and Ken Skelton.

Steve led a busy life and died in St. Joes hospital of organ failure and

complications, on August 9th.

He is survived by his son Colin Alford, an OMVA Club regular.

I too would like to extend my sympathies to Coliin. Steve was an invaluable source of information to Brian Gough and I when we were first into collecting vehicles. Steve identified many vehicles that we had photos of but didn't quite know what they were. Brian took a picture of this mint funny looking body in southern Alberta and because of the colour we figured it was military. Steve encouraged me to buy it because it was indeed military and complete. It was off something called an Artillery Tractor. I had to have him explain what that was. We were both members of Service Rifle at the time and Steve would come to the garage every chance he got to look at any new purchases and offer encouragement and advice. May he rest in peace.
