Default Rear fender skirt?

I took some pictures of a couple of MK2 carriers a few years back when I started to have interest in them. I was looking at them recently and the one carrier had rear skirts on both sides of the rear fender and they look factory installed. Here is my question? did they have them from the factory as I have never seen them in any photos. Here is a picture of it.

I thought I would have had a reply by now? Has any one ever seen rear side skirts on any carrier as the ones in the picture look factory installed and looks like they would strengthen the rear fender.

Default skirts

I'm working on some new rear fenders for my MKII. and I'm positive that it had those skirts as the two holes in the top fenders are damaged and the holes farther on the sides ar not. Anyway mine is going to have them as they would really support the rear fender. Those in the picture look original to me buy the way they are built.

I know I've seen them on a carrier on another thread some where here. but I can't find it right now. It was a photo of a carrier in service. I think.

That looks good, did you make them up? Did you receive the fax with the diagram for the track adjuster?

Yes I made them out of (11 gauge) (1/8) steel. I got them almost rite. The difference is that I made the step side of them a little longer and they reach down beside the step, I also put a bolt through the side of the step to support it. makes it a lot stronger and you can't really see it. The outside of the fender is bent and the inside is welded like the front fenders. I think they look O.K. Got the track adjuster made too. Thank's.
