Default Heritage week Comox valley Feb 15-21

Its heritage week In the Comox valley and six museums were asked to put on displays in the Comox mall. I have set up in an empty store across from the HMCS Port Albernie.
My display stare at the First World War and finishes at Korea.

Default Heritage week Comox valley Feb 15-21 3

Another set of pictures.
I have been asked to keep my display set up for another week as it's proving to be quite popular, especially with the veterans.
Next week from Tuesday the 24th to Saturday the 28th of Feb across from the HMCS Port Albernie museum in the Comox Mall.

Very nice collection. That must have been an awful lot of trips back and forth from the car to the table.

Default Heritage wek Comox valley

It took 5 days to set the display up fortunately I am only 5 blocks away from the mall.
My display has proven to be very popular. I have had a number of army vets go through and wax nostalgic about their time in the army.
One world war 2 vet who was the no 1 on a bren was tickled pink to hold a bren gun again.
He's almost 90, near blind and had a huge grin on his face.
Another vet asked me if I had a 58 set as he had carried one during the war.
I am still in the process of gathering parts for the 58 set.
