CMP's in RAF use

I know we had a thread a while back concerning vehicles used by the RAF, but as this was on it's last page, I thought I would start another post on the subject. A colleague of mine has recently shared with me some pictures of his father, when he was in the RAF, during WW2. The first three pictures are from India, and show what I believe are locally bodied Ford and Chevy's, (although they could be Australian bodied).
The next 2 pictures where taken in Burma/Malaya, as his unit moved. The monkey in the last shot was apparently their mascot (you would'nt argue with him !)

The next picture is of an F60, on the move, again in Buma/Malaya.
Now we move to Singapore, where his father was involved with the recovery of a Japanese manned suicide jet. It looks like an Austin 6x4 with purpose made tressels, being used. Was the aircraft upside down in the water the one used to lanch the jet ? Last picture in this series, is of the recovery team.

Last picture for now, an official (we think) picture of a late Spitfire, which may have been photo recon once in it's life. Anyone know anymore about this aircraft ?

The Spitfire pictured is an FR XIV that is believed to have served with 28 Sqn in India. That particular a/c was a prototype for modifications (strengthening) that were adopted by all following FR XIVs and LF XIVs.. One of the camera ports is visible at about 10 oclock from the fuselage roundel in the lighter camouflage. It appears as a circular indentation about the same size as the roundel. It has been faired over with fabric and painted.

Hi All

I think I've posted this picture in the past but it fits this thread, this picture as part of a display years ago at an airshow of the history of P40 aircraft. What of course caught my eye was the CMP back by the tree line. The picture was captioned as having been taken in the CBI Theatre of War.
