Default Running 1944 CCKW on Government Liquidators

Hi All

I normally would not bother to post this sort of thing to MLU but it was just sent to me to be sent our to our local MV Club and it is just so bloody rare to see this that I had to share.

This on the US Government Liquidators Web site http://www.govliquidation.com/auctio...302&cm_ite=519 .

Not surprising that they are listing a WWII Vehicle they come up as bases closes or a new commanding officer says get rid of the junk. What is rare is the thing runs. Be sure to click on the video. Early truck with the commercial dash chevron tires. Surprisingly from the photos it looks in good original (1952 rebuild) condition.

I really hope it finds a good home it deserves it after 69 years in the government system.

Cheers Phil

Note that from the same location they have a M37 and a M151A1. Surprising they can sell the M151A1 without cutting it.....perhaps a fortunate oversight.

Default Consignments?

I suspect these older vehicles are private consignments. I haven't seen the listing or how there are described, but that's my guess.

Default Good Observation on the M151

Hi Rob

Yes, I saw the M151, I've saved a copy of the offering, for documentation purposes and will be following the sale to see if it gets pulled. If it doesn't then maybe we have seen the end of the non-sense on crushing. But they may also sell it for off-road use only and mess with title.

It will be interesting to watch the entire sale though.

Cheers Phil

Default Cckw

all this stuff is estate of Jack Tomlin, long time MVPA member and past president, so everything should have a clean title,
regards Frank
