Default CGT recovery

This could be the last of these bodies to be recovered for restoration.

It's a CGT No9 Aust.

I'm amazed at just how many have turned up and been saved from the scrappy.

Keith have/did many #8 GT bodies survive?

It is one of the new bodies from Hughes Trading which were rescued back in 1976. It's been in it's previous location for 29 years.

It was one of two which had been fire damaged, which as you can see has ruined the front part of the cab.

It was lifted in true recovery style by a wrecker driven by the soon to be 80 John Belfield.

Cliff, in answer to your question there are at least two restorable No8 Chevs and about the same number of Fords.

I see a bit of cut and paste required the hole above the driver looks a bit big for body filler.

I'm surprised you did not recognise the antique air conditioning Robert

Default Passage of time

Interesting to see what can happen after more than 35 years.

And here it is around 1976 when the four bodies were recovered. You can see by the faded red marking on the bottom body it is the same one. Pity the rear doors have disappeared, even bigger pity it wasn't put under cover.

As to the fate of the other three, one was cut up, the other two were rebuilt on C15A chassis.

Hi Andrew - when I saw the image of your property I thought I was looking at ours. Many trucks in the same orientation alongside the big shed just like us. The only thing missing in yours is the chook house.

Verry sound advice Keith, but you still have to be seen doing some work around the house to earn shed time.

Hey Howard,
With a bit of rust repair and paint it could look like this.

Default New location

The No9 body has arrived at it's new owner's place where soon it will be under cover for the first time in 60 years.

Incidentally this was the last CMP moving job the Pajero will do. At 320,000km I've just traded it on a similar one with 240,000 fewer kilometers on it.

It has been the most reliable vehicle I have owned.
