Default Ford CMP frame castings

Just thought that those with Ford CMP's might like to know of my recent experience in straightening the castings attached to the frame e.g the gas tank supports and the fender/frame/ arch bar joint castings. These are generally stamped and fabricated sheet on GM vehicles but castings on the Ford.

One of mine was severely bent. Assuming that it was cast steel not cast iron - otherwise it would likely have cracked not bent in the first place - I took it to a spring shop , at Bob Carrieres suggestion, and they put the heat to it and pressed it flat - no problem.

So it is a risk worth taking!
