Two 25 Pdrs in Australia
A week ago I was in the Mildura area when I happened to be driven past a yard just on the outskirts of the city of Wentworth that belongs to the Wentworth Council. To my surprise there were two 25 Pdr field guns looking relatively intact but somewhat neglected sitting on their wheels in the yard off to one side.
As it was a weekend the yard was closed and the next day I left the area none the wiser as to what the guns are doing there. Most likely they are there for storage while the decision on what to do with them is made. They appeared quite weathered and may possibly be simply awaiting refurbishment but it is possible that the Council may be considering disposal. Could be worth enquiring about if someone is interested. David
