69D my guess would be part of a RCDs Sqaudrons Head Quarters (ie A-Squadron). 69 would be the Office in Command of the squadron and 69C would be the Sargent Major of the Sqn. Thus what ever other vehicles part of the SHQ would be 69 just different letter added to the Call sign.
Now who wants to take a stab at "9er Domestic" |

It's been a few years since I had to worry about call signs, but I would have guessed at the CQ of combat support company in an Infantry battalion.

Not an armoured call sign. 19D is A squadron's SQ. 69D would be an echelon vehicle, maybe sigs.

Ewen, if you have any questions regarding your restoration of the M37 please let me know as I would be happy to help. I did a complete resto a few years back on one, it was a total frame off.

thanks Chris
Chris, thanks for the offer for help. I just got the brakes working and will use the truck in a parade this weekend. It's in good shape so unless something really goes haywire l"m not going to do a full restoration job. Later when I retire and get a heated garage, then will be the time for me to pull it apart. I'll put some photos on the thread I started in the restoration site. I was lucky a neighbhour stopped by with two sledge hammers and a very large pipe wrench. 4 hrs later and a couple of beers we had the fenders all straightened out and running boards. Saved me some money and having to purchase a new fender. cheers!
Mitch, you'll be sorry that you sold me the truck after you see the photos. some updates just posted onto the thread. Ewen |
