Default Turret

Interesting... and they are rare. The AWM have been rebuilding one for their Hudson.

I have posted on this subject before... here.

Our local Library has a CD of the training film for the Gunner in on of these turrets. Not quite the jump in and pull the trigger sort of thing at all. Showed the ammo belt stowage, how to actully get in, the routine sight checks and the rather intricate task of actually cocking the guns. Those guys must have had bladders the size of footballs....

You can get in and out of it in-flight and there was an elsan in the aircraft. They certainly must have had big balls though. I wouldn't like to have to get out of it in a hurry when the aircraft is pulling 'G'.

Hi Keith,
Forgot about the room inside a Hudson, I was thinking of the Defiant, that also had the Bolton Paul turret, no way of stepping out of that one quick leak.
